Mike Price and Callum Macleod will race a McLaren 720S GT3 Evo for Optimum Motorsport in the 2025 British GT Championship. The switch also represents a change of manufacturer for the Pro-Am duo, switching from Mercedes-AMG branded machinery.
This will be one of two McLarens entered by the Yorkshire outfit, with Price and Macleod joining following a consistently competitive 2024 season with Greystone GT. This year will mark Price’s third season in British GT3, having first linked up with Macleod in 2023.
Price said: “Whilst it never seems a good idea to be wishing time away, the weeks can’t pass fast enough to get to the start of our pre-season testing dates and on track in the McLaren 720S GT3 run by Optimum and begin the work with Callum of trying to get up to speed ready for Round 1. It is such a fantastic opportunity to try and progress further in British GT after the progress made in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 with Greystone over the past two years.”
Macleod, meanwhile, has spent the majority of his British GT career at the wheel of Mercedes-AMG machinery, first with RAM Racing and then Greystone GT. This will be his first campaign racing something other than a Three Pointed Star since his Team Parker Bentley days in 2017.
He added: “2025 marks 10 years since I made my British GT debut at Silverstone in an Audi R8, and after nine years of racing front-engined cars with the Bentley and Mercedes-AMG I’m really looking forward to the challenge of stepping into the mid-engined McLaren 720S GT3.”
