Bennetts BSB FP1: Ray edges out Takahashi at Cadwell Park

Bradley Ray stole the charge in the opening Bennetts British Superbike Championship SUPERPICKS Free Practice session at Cadwell Park this morning, firing the Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha to the top of the times by 0.038s from Takumi Takahashi.

Ray had held the advantage in the second half of the session, with Takahashi surging up the order to have his strongest showing of the season so far to lead the charge for Honda Racing UK.

Danny Buchan was third fastest for the SYNETIQ BMW team ahead of Jason O'Halloran, who had a small tip off at the chicane but was able to rejoin at the end of the session.

Leon Haslam had stolen the early charge on the VisionTrack Kawasaki; he ended fifth fastest ahead of Peter Hickman in sixth.

Tommy Bridewell was seventh fastest with local contender Lee Jackson moving into eighth place with Rory Skinner and Ryan Vickers completing the top ten.
