Bradley Ray topped the times as the Bennetts British Superbike Championship returned to Oulton Park for the final R&G Official Test, with the Raceways Yamaha rider moving ahead of Josh Brookes by 0.408s at the chequered flag.

Overnight rain meant the track continued to dry throughout the morning and it wasn’t until the midpoint of the session when the times began to fall as more riders ventured out onto the circuit for the first time.

Ray’s time in the final five minutes of the session moved him to the top with Brookes also edging ahead of Danny Kent to put DAO Racing Honda second on the times. Kent had been previously at the top of the times with ten minutes remaining, but the final lap improvements left him third overall.

Storm Stacey had been one of the first riders to head out on track and the Bathams AJN Racing BMW rider ended the session fourth fastest ahead of Charlie Nesbitt, who had equally been quick to get back on track at the Cheshire circuit on the MasterMac Honda.

Tommy Bridewell was sixth fastest leading the Honda Racing UK teammates, with Leon Haslam moving ahead of Scott Swann as the rookie continues his rapid adaptation to the Superbike class with Send My Bag Racing by IWR Honda.

Lee Jackson and Glenn Irwin completed the top ten as conditions continued to improve at Oulton Park.
