Jake Hill topped a drizzly opening Free Practice session at the third round of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at Snetterton this morning.
The Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport driver went top midway through the session in his BMW 330e M Sport, with a time of 2m10.166s and finished nearly half a second clear of his rivals.
Last lap flyers for NAPA Racing UK’s Dan Cammish and Ashley Sutton put the teammates second and third respectively with near identical times. However, both Ford Focus drivers were over four tenths behind Hill.
Series returnee Bobby Thompson, in the new Zeus Cloud Racing with WSR, spent the majority of the session in second position and finished fourth ahead of WSR stablemate Colin Turkington for Team BMW, over a second back in fifth.
Rob Huff was the highest placed Toyota Corolla GR Sport in sixth with 2022 champion Tom Ingram behind in seventh. Doble and Chilton were eighth and ninth with Adam Morgan in tenth, who finished his session in the barrier at Turn 6.
The second Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship practice session gets underway at 12.25 with the Quick Six Qualifying starting at 15.30.
